After seeing great success in the Middle-East, family-owned Salmontini has arrived in London. Situated in Belgravia on the site of the old steakhouse chain Palms, Salmontini specializes in smoked salmon, however there is plenty on the menu for non-salmon aficionados.
The restaurant itself is a refreshing change from the dark and atmospheric dens of central London, and the light and airy room makes it the ideal place to dine with friends. The staff are overly attentive, but perfectly friendly and helpful, and they gave fantastic wine pairing suggestions.
Head Chef Esteve Prats Grau was poached from Tom’s Kitchen, and the food was decent. The salmon salad was fresh and tasty with a lot of texture, and the black cod was on par with some of the top Japanese restaurants in London. The desserts were not the high-point of the meal, but certainly weren’t the worst I’ve had.
With the prices being such good-value Salmontini is definitely the new go-to restaurant in Belgravia for seafood, mainly because you no longer have a reason not to try it.
Salmontini are open 7 days a week for Lunch and Dinner, from 12-4pm and 6pm-9:30pm. Dinner costs on average £60pp including drinks and service charge. Reservations can be made via phone (02071181999) or online.
