E&O, Notting Hill

E&O Notting Hill pan asian

A popular pan-Asian restaurant on the corner of Blenheim Crescent in Notting Hill, Will Ricker’s E&O doesn’t disappoint. A modern, trendy restaurant with a bar with dark moody lighting that does decent cocktails, it’s the ideal place for a date or meal out with friends. The restaurant menu is simple but varied, with a good mix of sushi, dim sum, heartier dishes, and tempura.

We opted for the Crispy Pork Belly with Black Vinegar, Aubergine and Courgette Tempura, Prawn Tempura, and Singapore Noodles and Green Fried Brown Rice on the side. The portions were larger than we thought they would be, so filled us up completely, to the point we couldn’t finish it all.

The Crispy Pork Belly was cooked to perfection, not overly crispy so you broke your teeth, but just crispy enough to get a nice ‘snap’ of the outer of the belly. The tempura was light and not too salty like tempura can often be. The Singapore noodles were full of flavours, but really quite spicy. Overall the food was excellent and I’ve been back a few times since. Along with the food we also had wine and cocktails, the cocktails were decent and were quite potent, they definitely didn’t skimp on the alcohol!

To finish I had Orange and Almond Pudding with Ginger Ice-cream, which really was exceptionally good. The pudding was moist and the orange and almond flavours worked magnificently together. I was quite full from the main course, yet this dessert wasn’t too filling, the flavours made it quite refreshing. My friend had the Chocolate Pudding, and said it was the best he’s ever had.

E&O is open 7 days a week, and located at 14 Blenheim Crescent, Notting Hill, London. A two-course meal for two including wine and cocktails was around £200.
